HUMANS OF FORT WORTH

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, I spent the day in downtown Fort Worth simply making friends out of strangers. New York photographer Brandon Stanton, the creator of Humans Of New York, inspired me to take on such a challenge.
Being the extrovert that I am, a lot of my friends thought that talking to strangers would be an easy task. Wrong. Extroverts are comfortable in big groups, parties, mixers, concerts, etc.. Speaking one on one with someone I didn’t know absolutely terrified me. But I knew I had to break out of my comfort zone eventually, and thought documenting it would be an interesting experience.
During this project, I learned that everyone is different. We all have our stories, our struggles, our victories, and our passions. Someone who lives a wealthy life might have different battles than someone with no job. Someone might live in a house, while someone might live in a parking garage. But we’re all human, living in the same world, breathing the same air, and doing our best to make the most of our temporary lives. No one really deserves entitlement.

RESERVOIR LADIES

Low resolution copies from my final portfolio. I took on the idea of replacing the characters from Reservoir Dogs with females. This shoot was fun, plus enjoyable to work with such strong and cool women. I sized the photos in Photoshop to fit the actual widescreen screen ratio, and thought the photos worked really well in Black and White.  Larenda Reyes was an assistant and second shooter during the project and amazed me with her work.

NURSERY RHYMES AND FAIRY TALES

In 2012, I had the chance to show off my work in a local Fort Worth gallery. My project Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales was one of my favorite pieces. Working with friends, and in locations only based in Fort Worth, I was proud to say I only spend $200 on my one of my first artistic projects.
